Looking forward to meeting you there. I will be driving my red 90’ MX5 and will most likely be carrying around my camera and wearing a gray Yankee hat. :)
My journey to healthy living and a new body.
One of the best things that happened to me at my last job was that I was surrounded by people who loved their body. Not in a shallow sense, but rather, loved their body enough to truly take care of it.
That eventually influenced me into doing lots of things I hadn’t done in a very long time. Because most people are too nice to me and wouldn’t want to tell me, “Adrian….you’re looking a little chubby nowadays,” I really just fell into a trap thinking I was just fine.
I wasn’t eating healthy, I wasn’t working out, I wasn’t taking care of my body and it really stopped me from being able to do many things.
Because of the influence I had from my coworkers last year, I was able to finally lose some weight, and regain some of my athletic ability I once had as a teenager.
I lost about 15lbs, had done most of my Power 90 workouts, went through two weeks of Insanity: The Asylum, and ran 5 5k’s, 3 of which were officially races.
I was never a runner, never really a guy with endurance, and I ran my first 5k, and that triggered something inside of me I had never felt before. After running at the end of June through September I had run over 40 miles total…..unfortunately since losing my job I’ve let everything get to me and I’ve lacked spiritual growth, pure motivation, and any inspiration to continue my lifestyle.
So….I’ve gained 11lbs back of the 15 that I lost. :(
It took a while to finally get back in the groove. I had good intentions to restarting again, but unfortunately I fell short each time.
Then it hit me, big time…. I was watching Fat Chef. The trainer on the show was helping a 6 foot 2 inch man who weighed over 400lbs and told me the “ideal” weight for a 6’2” guy was 190lbs.
I was like what the F@$%#! I am 5’8” 7 inches shorter than that guy and I freaking weigh 182lbs! I was hit with a reality check. The more I slack off the more my gut and butt are going to grow well beyond the dome size they have reached already.
So my journey is tough, eating right, working out, and running so that I can lose the weight, gain strength, endurance, and ultimately continue living a healthy lifestyle. Of course I want to look dang good in the end as well.
My original goal this year was to lose weight, but that has now changed to living a healthy lifestyle. People like Bob and Jillian of the biggest loser don’t just look good because they work out, but because they continue to make sure their body is in the healthiest shape possible by living healthy, eating healthy, and taking care of their bodies.
I start my journey, and plan on hitting the scale every week, as well as taking photos of myself every 30 days. I want to really be on top of this weight loss, and want to see the results.
Thanks for reading about it. All I ask from you is a bit of prayer here and there during my journey, cause I’m gonna need it. :)

Christmas 2011. A lot of cleaning and detailing gifts for the cars, a Momo GTR2 Pedal Set for the Miata, Shop Vac 8hp :) YES!, and a devotional based off the movie Courageous which surprisingly I am looking forward to. (Why?) Because I honestly don’t read books, but this looks promising.
I got a chance to see my dream car at a short Coffee and Cars event earlier this month. I smelled the exhaust, gazed at those big wheels, took a look down it’s not so stock Stillen exhaust pipe, and day dreamed of the sound of turbo and me behind the wheel as I staired at its ruby red “R” from it’s emblem.
Can’t wait til I get to ride in and drive one of these things in the future.
My love for photography and racing combined into one. Would love to do something like this one day.
